What you get each week

Flipped set

Thirty minutes of self-study before class that marks itself.

Two live classes

Seventy-five minutes on Google Meet, most of it speaking in pairs.

A recording a week

Ninety seconds, transcribed and answered with my voice note within 24 hours.

Writing feedback

Every draft marked on the four public criteria, then a rewrite and my comment.

Five a day

Five chunks in Telegram every morning; the ones you miss come back.

Three mocks

Weeks 4, 8 and 12, in the computer-delivered format.

A study partner

One colleague for the whole course; you listen to each other first.

A band estimate

A report per skill at the end; an estimate, never an IELTS result.

Before

Thirty minutes of self-study that marks itself.

During

Seventy-five minutes live, most of it speaking in pairs.

After

Homework by Thursday, writing by Sunday, a voice note from me within 24 hours.

What a live class looks like

Twelve teachers on Google Meet, the book open on the shared screen, most of the time in pairs.

Tuesday and Friday at 19:00 [placeholder].

FAQ

Who is this for?

Working English teachers at B1+ who want a working B2 and a band to show for it. Twelve seats. Entry is a 10-minute placement interview and a short online test.

Do I need to buy the book?

The course follows Outcomes Upper Intermediate, 3rd edition, and you need the Student’s Book. I will tell you where to get it when you apply; the flipped set and homework point you to its pages every week.

What if I miss a class?

The class materials go into the Class library the same evening and your study partner has the breakout notes. The recording and the homework still count that week. Miss two in a row and I will message you.

Are classes recorded?

[DECISION: yes, kept in the Class library for the length of the course, or no.] Either way, the materials from every class are there the same evening.

How is my writing marked?

Every draft gets feedback within minutes on the four public criteria: Task Achievement, Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resource, Grammatical Range and Accuracy. You rewrite, and I comment on the rewrite.

What does the bot send?

Five chunks a day at 08:00 in Telegram with one question to tap, a review on Saturday and a Sunday spiral that brings back words from earlier weeks. Five minutes a day; the ones you get wrong come back within three days.

How do I pay?

[PRICE] a month, paid monthly in advance, by [Payme, Click or card: confirm]. The first month is due after your placement interview, when your seat is confirmed.

What is the report, and is it an IELTS result?

At the end you get a band estimate per skill from three computer-delivered mocks, your vocabulary retention and your week 1 and week 12 recordings side by side. It is my estimate against the public descriptors. It is not an IELTS result and cannot be presented as one.
